Wheelwiz | “Canada Day x Fast Wheels” Email

Client: Wheelwiz.ca

Role: Email & SMS Marketing Specialist

Tools Used: Klaviyo, Photoshop (promo graphic), Grammarly

Project Type: Holiday Promo Email

Industry: Automotive eCommerce (DTC)

Date: June 30–July 30, 2023

The Challenge

With Canada Day on the horizon, Wheelwiz wanted to spotlight a limited-time 10% off deal on its premium Fast Wheels collection. The campaign had a tight turnaround, needed to feel patriotic without being cliché, and had to stand out against heavy inbox competition during a holiday weekend.

Oh — and it had to be laser-targeted to product relevance, with a strong ROI.

The Strategy

We leaned into visual dominance and urgency for this one. The hero section featured bold red “10% OFF” typography paired with the Fast Wheels logo, set over a darkened image of the product in action. This created contrast and immediate clarity on the offer.

From there, I structured the layout into modular segments:

  • Top: Hard-hitting promo with limited-time code and eligibility clarity

  • Middle: Product eye-candy (6 best-selling Fast Wheels)

  • Lower: Cross-sell for mounted & balanced packages to increase AOV

  • Footer: Trust section with 4.9 Google rating + Sezzle (Buy now, pay later) for conversion lift

Execution

  • Designed and deployed in Klaviyo using promo-focused template blocks

  • Applied dynamic targeting to only send to wheel-focused segments

  • A/B tested subject lines (Patriotic vs. Offer-first language)

  • Synced SMS reminder 48 hours before expiry to capture fence-sitters

Results

  • +22% YoY revenue for July wheel sales in the Fast brand category

  • CTR up 28% compared to prior Fast Wheels promo (better urgency & layout clarity)

  • AOV increased by 12% when mounted packages were added to cart

  • Sezzle CTA click-throughs jumped 2.5x from baseline, suggesting offer flexibility was a factor

Why It Worked

This wasn’t just a sale — it was a Canada Day celebration dressed in conversion-ready design. The email didn’t try to sell everything — it sold one thing well, with just the right mix of emotion, offer clarity, and product range. The result? One of Wheelwiz’s top-performing promos of the summer.
